FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION PLEASE CLICK HERE

The Organising Committee invites delegates to submit abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the academic programme.  Abstracts will be reviewed for scientific merit before being selected for presentation. Results of the abstract selection process will be available via this website.  Abstracts must be submitted electronically and may be submitted for either oral or poster presentation.  Authors must indicate their preference, but the final decision will rest with the Scientific Committee.

Deadline for submission May 8th 2007 (Extended!)
The deadline for submission of abstracts isMay 8th 2007 (Submission closes at Midnight, Central European Time). After this date no more abstract submissions will be considered. The Programme Committee reserves the right to final decision regarding acceptance of abstracts and the form of presentation.  Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent via email to authors during May/June 2007.  Detailed instructions regarding oral presentations and poster sessions will be included with notification of acceptance.

Important information for Authors!

  • All presenting authors are required to fully register for SSAI 2007 Congress no later than July 15th, 2007.  If registration and payment have not been received by the deadline, the presentation will not be listed in the final programme.  This measure has been taken to minimise "no-shows" and disruptions for the sessions.
  • The restriction for number of Abstracts that can be submitted by any one person as presenting author is two, more could cause difficulties with time conflicts in the programme.
  • Conflict of interest: If the research is funded (partially or fully) by a proprietary organisation (pharmaceutical, biotech or device manufacturer), a statement to that effect must be included at the end of the abstract (as part of the body of the abstract).

Topics:

  • Anaesthesiology
  • Intensive Care Medicine
  • Pain Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine

How to Submit an Abstract
Abstracts will be accepted via our Online submission system.  The main (Corresponding) author needs to register as a user to get access to a personal web page (password protected) where submission can be done.  The abstract should be typed or ‘pasted’ into the submission form in English, and should not exceed 2000 characters. Please follow the instructions on the submission site carefully.  If you have any problems, contact the Congress Secretariat (ssai2007@inspiro.se).

The body of the abstract should be organised as follows:

a. State the principal objectives and scope of the investigation
b. Describe the methodology employed
c. Summarise the results
d. State the principal conclusions reached
e. Recommendations on practical application may be made
f. Simple Images/graphs and tables may be incorporated as long as the total abstract size does not exceed the space limitations given (See the instructions on the form)
g. A limited number of references, in consecutive order, may be included in the abstract.  For format guidelines please consult Guide for Authors in Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica

Replacing/correcting an already submitted abstract
Via your personal (password-protected) web page, you can replace, change or delete your submitted abstract.  Please note that this can only be done before the submission deadline of May 8th, 2007. When your abstract is ready (if you choose to submit prior to the deadline), mark your abstract submit for review, the abstract file will then be locked and no longer accessible for further editing by the author.

Publication
All accepted abstracts will be published in the official abstract book of the 29th SSAI Congress as well as in a supplement in Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica. The abstract book will be distributed to all delegates in their congress bag at the congress.
